Firefighter David P. Sutton Endowed Memorial
Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor the memory of David P. Sutton who
lost his life in the line of duty as a volunteer firefighter for the City of
Fraser.
1. Recipients must be Macomb County residents.
2. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member, employer, or other
professional must accompany the application.
3. Applicant must also submit a biographical profile describing career goals
and what he/she wants to give back to the community to improve fire safety.
4. The fund will award two scholarships each year.
5. The two awards will include one for a pre-service student and one for a
volunteer firefighter for the City of Fraser.
6. The award is for tuition, fees, and books.
7. Selection will be made by the Macomb Community College Fire & Emergency
Services Training Center and the Sutton Scholarship Committee.
If, at any time, the College policies and procedures in effect for the
administration of the scholarship fund change, the guidelines are automatically
modified to confirm after proper notification to the donor or representative.
Whenever it appears that changing conditions make this plan no longer
available, practical, or suitable for the general purposes stated above, the
College reserves the right to redirect the funds to best serve the mutual
interests of the donor and the College.
