Pre-Employment Standards
- Be a Citizen of the United States and a resident of the City of Fraser,
employed in the City of Fraser, or a resident of Macomb County. Priority
will be given to Fraser residents.
- Have obtained a high school education or the equivalent.
- Have no prior felony conviction.
- Possess good moral character with references.
- Be free from physical defects, chronic disease, organic or functional
conditions, or mental and emotional instabilities which may tend to impair the
efficient performance of a volunteer firefighter, or which might endanger the
lives of other firefighters.
- Possess a valid drivers Michigan motor vehicle operator's license and good
driving record.
- Demonstrate physical ability at a level necessary to perform job related
firefighting functions as determined by a pre-employment test.
- Successfully complete any and all training curriculum as required by the Michigan Firefighters Training Council and the department.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Be Firefighter II certified or fire academy certified.
- Pass a background investigation.
- Pass an oral interview with both the executive board and the fire
lieutenant.
